MISSION
The Occupational
Therapy Assistant
Program empowers
students with the
necessary
competencies of a
level entry
Occupational Therapy
Assistant to be able
to effectively
perform in the
different contexts
of delivery and
models of service.
The program
contributes to
improving the
quality of life of
the Puerto Rican
society, especially
for those
individuals with
different abilities.
The educational
process enables
students to generate
alternatives and
make changes to
satisfy the
interests and needs
of individuals,
their families, and
the communities they
serve. This is
provided in
accordance with the
Occupational Therapy
Practice Framework:
Domain and Process,
and the values and
principles of the
professional Code of
Ethics.
Students are exposed
to an integral
education through a
constant search for
a variety of
educational
experiences to
stimulate reflection
and critical,
creative, and
inquisitive thinking
skills. This allows
for students’
introspection of
their strengths and
areas for
improvement, as well
as their personal
and professional
impact on society.
We accomplish our
mission by having a
relevant, updated
and innovative
academic program in
accordance with
educational and
professional
trends. This is
achieved through an
academic and
clinical faculty who
has the necessary
credentials and
commitment towards
the education and
service of human
beings.
